Still talking about Fairbanks...On Saturday, we went downhill skiing. We havent been skiing for 3 years and the "mountains" at the Ohio/Michigan ski resorts are ant hills compared to Moose Mountain outside of Fairbanks. We thought we were pretty decent skiers...man, moose mountain sure proved us wrong.
I had forgotten everything I'd ever learned about skiing. I couldnt remember how to stop...well, it's not that I couldn't remember...I just couldnt get my skis to do what I wanted them to do. I had a pretty miserable first trip down the hill. It went something like this...ski, get going to fast, try to stop, cant stop, fall on purpose to stop, ski, fall, ski, fall...and so on until I was at the bottom. I actually ended up walking about half way down because I was so pissed off that I couldnt ski anymore. Avery on the other hand had a pretty decent first trip down.
I rested at the bottom for awhile until I wasnt mad anymore. Then I looked at the map and found a slope that wasnt so steep and we set off for that. I did pretty good on the way down this time, but Avery had a hard time. One time, he hit the snow so hard, he got a bloody nose(see picture above).
This is the view from the top. I guess even though our skiing didnt go very well, just the view was worth it!

After we got back to the hotel, we took naps and then went out for Tai food for dinner. Later that night all of us girls went out. I let them drag me to some country bar. It even had a riding bull! We had a really great time. Thank goodness they didnt play line dancing songs all night! I actually got to do some dancing.
The next day was our last day in Fairbanks and we didnt have any plans. We slept in and then did a little shopping before heading for the airport
