While these seasonings might not be new to you, they are to me!!! It has been a long time (since growing up in Las Vegas) that I have lived in a community with a large group of Hispanic people. I love living in culturally diverse places!

Find a farmers market
Good quality produce for really nice prices! And they even have a big green house with flowers and potted plants in addition to a petting zoo and hay rides during the halloween season. Good place!

Ride Roller Coasters at Great America
A cool fall day that was perfect for roller coasters. It was packed at the park and we didnt get to ride nearly as many rides as I would have liked!
It was good to hang with Avery. The most memorable thing about this day was that it was when Avery first found out that he is going to be a father!

Play frisbee golf in Indiana
This course is small, but well laid out course by the Calumet River. We lost three frisbees in the river on this day, but the sun was shining, the dogs were romping, we were smiling, and life was good. We've also played the course on the Purdue Calumet University campus.

Read the paper
I thought reading the paper would give me some insight into becoming a part of a new community so I subscribed to the sunday paper when I moved here. Every other week I had delivery issues and when I did get it, it was filled with crap. We get a free weekly mailing with community events in it and my facebook is constantly filled with community stuff. The paper became a hassle and waste of money so I dropped the subscription after a month.

Make soap with Erin
Making soap is a process. And apparently a bit dangerous too! Good thing I had my friend Erin to show me the ropes.
We collected plants and lichen from the tundra to add exfoliating qualities to our soap.
Now that I'm using the soap, I'm really glad we put the scratchy stuff in there! It's the best part!

Bikini wax
Obviously pictures to go with this post have to be chosen carefully. I spent the day having a girls day out with these lovely ladies and we all endured the pain of preparing for beach season!
Afterward I had a big margarita to dull the pain!
