Since moving to Alaska, I usually spend my summer's traveling around the Lower 48 visiting friends. My friends have been good to me and let me borrow theirs often, but not having a car has been a hassle. So this year, I decided it was time to get one. I spent weeks searching. I drove about 15 cars and probably looked at about 30. I spent a whole week of my summer basically car shopping as a full time job. Thanks to my friend Christy for letting me use her car to run around searching for my own car.
Then I found this one. It's an 04 Ford Escape with 101,000 miles on it. It was owned by a urologist (boring doctor) who was very anal particular about keeping up on the regularly scheduled maintenance, keeping it clean, and in good working order. That works out well for me anyhow. I love the roof racks and have already had paddleboards and a canoe up there this summer. I also love that it is 4WD, which is specifically what I was looking for. I love that it is clean and that it has a good amount of cargo space. The only things I dont really care for are the leather seats, but I guess that will give it good resale value if I ever want to sell it in the future.

We own a Ford Escape (2010) and we love it. Glad you like yours too.
Great choice for a car! Your Escape looks great. And it’s definitely a good choice for people who like to travel on road trips a lot, like you. In terms of the leather seats, you can always have the leather cases changed to something you prefer, and just keep the leather seats away until such time that you decide you want to sell the car. That is, if the leather is removable, LOL!
It is true that, if you don’t have a car, it would be hard to go to places you want. Good thing you chose to buy a car. It would be easier to travel now. And the previous owner sure knows how to take care of the car! Just one look, and you know right off that it’s in excellent condition!
4-wheel drive vehicles are also known as off-road vehicles, meaning to say that these types of cars are made to endure different types of terrain. This can be good to people who travel a lot, like you! Traveling on rough roads, hill climb, and snow (if there’s any) can now be easy, as 4WD transmit power to all kinds of four-wheels for more power.
A fabulous choice for a ride! This is a true four-wheeled baby that fits well with all the adventure trips that you will have!
Nice! Looks like you found the perfect car for your family adventures. I’m sure you’ll have awesome road trips with your new car. I’d definitely want to read stories of your future adventures! =) Your new Ford Escape is quite impressive to be honest. 101,000 miles in, and it looks like it has a lot left in it!
Shopping and bonding time with your family would be more convenient knowing that you have your own time because you can use your own car. This car is just right for you and your family because of its safety benefits, such as front impact airbags design to ensure the driver and passengers’ safety.
I agree with Nita here. The Ford Escape definitely fits your personality! You were lucky enough to get it from an owner, who was very keen with maintaining the car and keeping it in top shape. Cars that have more than 60K mileage must undergo regular engine inspection, oil changes, and air filters. I’m sure that your car will get the utmost care from you. Congrats!
Your Ford Escape looks great! It’s a very sturdy, good for taking out on adventures, which I think you made the right choice in getting that one. Nita’s right about the leather seat covers. You can always change them, or just remove them to use the cloth or suede seats underneath the covers.
